In India, the twelve sacred places of Lord Shiva are called "Jyotirlingas." These are not just temples; they are places where faith, devotion, power, and peace come together. Each Jyotirlinga has its own unique story and a special spiritual feeling.

1. केदारनाथ (उत्तराखंड)
ये मंदिर बर्फ से ढकी हिमालय की ऊँचाईयों में है। यहाँ तक पहुँचना आसान नहीं, लेकिन जब आप पहुँचते हैं, तो लगता है जैसे भगवान शिव खुद आपका इंतज़ार कर रहे हों।

2. काशी विश्वनाथ (उत्तर प्रदेश)
वाराणसी शहर की धड़कन यही मंदिर है। कहते हैं, यहां दर्शन करने से आत्मा को मुक्ति मिलती है। जीवन और मृत्यु के बीच की सबसे सुंदर सीख यहीं मिलती है।

3. महाकालेश्वर (मध्य प्रदेश)
उज्जैन का ये मंदिर शिव का वो रूप है जो समय और मृत्यु के स्वामी हैं। यहाँ की सुबह की भस्म आरती आपको जीवन की नश्वरता याद दिला देती है।

3. Mahakaleshwar (Madhya Pradesh)

4. ओंकारेश्वर (मध्य प्रदेश)
नर्मदा नदी के बीचों-बीच एक द्वीप है जो 'ॐ' (ओं) जैसा दिखता है। वहाँ बसा है ये शांत और दिव्य शिव मंदिर।

4. Omkareshwar (Madhya Pradesh)

5. भीमाशंकर (महाराष्ट्र)
घने जंगलों और पहाड़ों के बीच छिपा ये मंदिर, प्रकृति और भगवान दोनों का साथ देता है।
👉 शिव के दर्शन के साथ, जंगल की शांति भी मिलती है।
5. Bhimashankar (Maharashtra)
Surrounded by green forests and hills, this temple is not just spiritual — it’s also part of a wildlife sanctuary. People come here to connect with both nature and God.👉 It’s like meeting God in the middle of a jungle trek.
6. त्र्यंबकेश्वर (महाराष्ट्र)
यहाँ से पवित्र गोदावरी नदी निकलती है। इस मंदिर में शिवलिंग के तीन चेहरे हैं – ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और महेश।
👉 तीन रूपों में एक ही परमात्मा का दर्शन।
6. Trimbakeshwar (Maharashtra)
Near Nashik, this temple is where the Godavari River begins. The Shiva linga here is special — it has three faces, said to represent the holy trio: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.👉 A place where three divine forces come together as one.
7. घृष्णेश्वर (महाराष्ट्र)
एलोरा की गुफाओं के पास स्थित ये छोटा-सा मंदिर प्रेम और भक्ति की बड़ी कहानियाँ कहता है।
👉 छोटा मंदिर, पर गहरी श्रद्धा से भरा हुआ।
7. Grishneshwar (Maharashtra)
Located right next to the famous Ellora caves, this is the smallest Jyotirlinga temple, but full of deep devotion.👉 The last Jyotirlinga, but filled with love and legend.
8. वैद्यनाथ (झारखंड)
शिव का ये रूप ‘वैद्य’ यानी इलाज करने वाला है। कहते हैं, यहां आकर शरीर और आत्मा दोनों को राहत मिलती है।
👉 जहाँ शिव भगवान, रोग भी हरते हैं।
👉 A place where even demons came seeking blessings and healing.
9. सोमनाथ (गुजरात)
यह पहला ज्योतिर्लिंग माना जाता है। इसे कई बार तोड़ा गया, लेकिन हर बार पहले से ज्यादा भव्य रूप में खड़ा हुआ।
👉 एक मंदिर जो कभी हार नहीं मानता।
9. Somnath (Gujarat)
Right by the sea, this is considered the first and most ancient Jyotirlinga. Though destroyed many times, it has always been rebuilt — a symbol of undying faith.👉 A temple that stands for strength and survival.
10. नागेश्वर (गुजरात)
यहाँ के शिवजी सब ज़हरों को निगलने वाले हैं – चाहे वो शरीर का हो या मन का।
👉 एक मंदिर जहाँ डर और बुराई टिक नहीं सकती।
10. Nageshwar (Gujarat)
Near Dwarka, this temple is known for protecting people from negativity and poison — literally and spiritually.👉 Think of it as Lord Shiva’s shield against evil.
11. मल्लिकार्जुन (आंध्र प्रदेश)
यहाँ शिव के साथ देवी पार्वती भी पूजा जाती हैं। दोनों का प्रेम और साथ इस मंदिर को और खास बनाता है।
👉 एक मंदिर जो प्रेम और एकता की मिसाल है।
11. Mallikarjuna (Andhra Pradesh)
This temple is on a beautiful hill called Srisailam. It’s special because both Shiva and his wife Parvati are worshipped together here.👉 A divine couple reminding us of love, togetherness, and balance.
12. रामेश्वरम (तमिलनाडु)
कहा जाता है कि भगवान राम ने लंका जाने से पहले यहाँ शिवजी की पूजा की थी। ये मंदिर राम की भक्ति और शिव की कृपा का संगम है।
👉 जहाँ भक्त और भगवान एक साथ खड़े होते हैं।
12. Ramanathaswamy (Tamil Nadu)
Located in Rameswaram, this temple is where Lord Rama prayed to Shiva before going to Lanka. It's part of the Char Dham pilgrimage and has the longest temple corridor in India.👉 A sacred stop on a hero’s journey — from man to legend.

सौराष्ट्रे सोमनाथं च श्रीशैले मल्लिकार्जुनम्।
उज्जयिन्यां महाकालं ओंकारममलेश्वरम्॥
परल्यां वैद्यनाथं च डाकिन्यां भीमशङ्करम्।
सेतुबन्धे तु रामेशं नागेशं दारुकावने॥
वाराणस्यां तु विश्वेशं त्र्यम्बकं गौतमीतटे।
हिमालये केदारं च घुश्मेशं च शिवालये॥
एतानि ज्योतिर्लिङ्गानि सायं प्रातः पठेन्नरः।
सप्तजन्मकृतं पापं स्मरणेन विनश्यति॥
उज्जैन (म.प्र.) में महाकाल, और ओंकारेश्वर (म.प्र.) में अमलेश्वर स्थित हैं।
इसे कैसे उपयोग करें:
